In Heck's Collage, the goal was for a creative approach in dissecting multiple illustrative plates of a detailed encyclopedia into a clear narrative piece. I wanted to convey the astronomical or mathematical aspects of my exploration of the book, eventually landing on the subject of universal connections and how it mimics how my mind connects thoughts/ideas. Often, it feels like I'm manifesting them in real life in an almost sequential pattern.
In my ideation phase, I focused on the theme of déjà vu, noting the inclusion of symbolic animals representing knowledge/genetic superiority, as seen in the visuals of birds of prey and the lazy wild cats in the background. Or smaller figures (coal miners) looking like they're exploring the inside of a brainstorm.
This was an intimate challenge for me since I've never made a collage this detailed, but this was a strong representation of how the human mind can often connect back to primal imagery, acting as a natural guide to traverse this current lifetime.

This is the Final Work.
I had a love-hate relationship with devising a clever approach to my concept. However, I loved the meticulous amount of time I spent assembling the cutouts in place to create visual depth and a metaphysical phenomenon envisioned.
